Jag F-Type in for a service & health check

This week, we’ve had the pleasure of welcoming a stunning Jaguar F-Type into our workshop.

In for its first service, with a mere 8,000 miles on the clock, this weekend toy deserves only the best care. We are happy that the customer has chosen the team at Wall End Garage with this honourable maiden service.

Our expert technicians meticulously carried out the service according to Jaguar’s stringent guidelines, ensuring that this high-performance vehicle remains in peak condition.

Lovely purr from the supercharged Jag 3L V6 with Adaptive Exhaust

An adaptive exhaust enables the car to have two settings.

The first is quieter, to keep the neighbours happy. This is also great for long journeys and discrete poodles around town.

When you hit a switch, it bypasses the baffles, significantly increasing the depth, and volume of the car’s roar. This is superb for a blast on the weekend, or to impress passengers looking for a bit of a thrill.

Underseal is in good condition

It’s great to see manufacturers putting in the effort with a decent wack of underseal.

This significantly increases the longevity of the car.

For cars that do not have this in place, please contact us, and we can check for rust, repair if necessary, and undercoat accordingly.

Panels off for an inspection and oil drain

The panels are taken off to make sure all is looking good on the underside of the car, before doing an oil drain.

Out for a road inspection

Nick has the ‘challenging’ task of taking the car out for a test drive.

With every service we carry out at Wall End Garage, we ensure a senior technician takes the car out for a road test.

Why? Whilst bonnet and under-car inspections are critical to start off with, only a test drive can uncover the general behaviour of the car.

A very quick summary of what is checked during this process:

  • Engine: sound, smoothness, acceleration/deceleration, vibrations, dynamics across the rev range and across different gears.
  • Transmission: Smoothness, speed, vibrations.
  • Steering: Alignment, responsiveness, smoothness.
  • Suspension: Checking for knocking, response to the road, how the car sits, body roll.
  • Brakes: Is there shudder / any unwanted vibrations, consistency of contact and brake performance, pedal feel.
  • Electrical System: Lights, instruments, wipers, dash, AC and a good look for any warning lights that may appear, post inspection.

Above is a brief summary as to why we do a physical check and a test drive. Simply put, a service would not be complete without a comprehensive test drive, by a seasoned technician. A commitment we uphold at Wall End Garage.
